Care for Horses. Grow Yourself.
A 5-session outdoor program for kids (6–14) to learn horse care, connection and respect.
Introducing…
Kids Horse Care Outdoor Program
This new program is a shift from Hollie’s earlier Bush Adventure days: less fire-making and bushcraft, more quiet, hands-on horse skills.
Children will learn how to groom, feed, and do groundwork with horses in a way that honours both the animal and themselves. There is no riding. Instead, the focus is on building resonance, responsibility and relational awareness.
This isn’t pony rides or a “fun farm day.”
It’s a trauma-informed, nature-based program designed to:
Teach kids how to care for horses with compassion and respect.
Build responsibility, self-regulation and listening skills.
Explore farm-based practices that develop resilience, patience and empathy.
Experience what it means to be in relationship with another being who cannot be forced.
Through grooming, groundwork and quiet observation, children will discover that caring for animals shapes how we care for each other.
Overstimulated + restless ➝ Calm connection
Give up too much screen time for grooming and gentle touch.
Struggling to focus ➝ Trust in action
Learning to follow instructions becomes patience that builds trust.
Entitled with animals ➝ Respectful relationship
From “make them do what I want” to listening and negotiating with horses.
Missing patience ➝ Growing empathy
Where frustration lived, responsibility and compassion begin to grow.
No quiet spaces ➝ Grounded belonging
Children find a place where respect, care, and calm are valued.

This Program Is For Families Who…
Are curious about horses and want to spend meaningful time with them.

This Program Is For:
Meet the Leader
I’m Hollie Wildëthorn, a psychotherapist, circle guide and adventurer. I’ve spent over two decades guiding people of all ages into deeper connection with themselves, each other, and the natural world.
My own children grew up here on the land, homeschooled, learning through animals, gardens and rhythms of the bush.
I created this program because I’ve seen how horses in particular teach patience, care, and responsibility… lessons children carry for life. This isn’t about forcing animals or kids into roles. It’s about relationship, resonance, and respect.
Also, it’s a way for my horses to interact with individuals who are willing to give them loving care.
Ready for Your Child to Learn Horse Care and Connection?

Questions?
-
No. This program is entirely ground-based; grooming, feeding and groundwork.
-
Parents are welcome to observe with clear boundaries, enjoy the gardens, or return at pickup.
-
Long pants and enclosed shoes are essential. Bring water, snacks, sun protection and clothes that can get dirty.
-
The program runs in all weather unless it is unsafe (storms, fire risk). If we cancel, a reschedule will be offered.
-
That’s okay. We introduce activities gently, building trust step by step.
